Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Roll-Off Driver to join our team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized roll-off trucks to transport and dispose of waste, recyclables, and other materials efficiently and safely. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, cargo handling, and adherence to safety regulations will ensure smooth operations across multiple job sites. Responsibilities
- Safely operate roll-off trucks, including dump trucks, and flatbed vehicles, to pick up and deliver containers across designated routes.
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations during all operations.
- Use GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time tracking to optimize delivery schedules.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Proven experience driving roll-off trucks, or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a logistics environment.
- Knowledge of truck driving regulations including FMCSA, DOT, and hazardous materials handling protocols.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using manual handling techniques or forklift equipment when necessary.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route driving and logistical cargo handling.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to hazardous materials regulations and dangerous goods transportation.
- Physical ability to handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy containers or equipment required for dump trucks or flatbed operations.
