American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with Neuro/Spine experience for a day shift OR position at a comprehensive hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Position is based in the Main OR of a 595-bed Joint Commission-accredited hospital in Birmingham, AL
-
Neuro/Spine surgical specialty with additional experience in Ortho and Vascular preferred
-
Day shift schedule running 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
-
1:1 patient ratio in a 24-bed surgical unit
-
On-call requirements on weekends, distributed evenly by the unit coordinator
-
EMR system is Cerner
-
13-week contract
-
Minimum of 2 years of recent Neuro/Spine surgical technologist experience required

BLS certification required — must be from the American Heart Association (AHA); American Red Cross not accepted
-
Proficiency with standard OR equipment
-
License required if applicable
-
SSN and DOB required for consideration

Experience with robotic (Da Vinci) surgery and maxillofacial procedures is preferred

Scrub color required is ceil blue or royal blue
-
Fleece, hooded garments, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and nail polish are not permitted

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted

All certifications must be AHA-issued and must not be expired or expiring within 30 days of the start date

The facility is a recognized center of excellence for stroke care, cardiovascular services, bariatrics, and surgical care, including minimally invasive procedures
