Are you passionate about working with young children and making a difference every day? The New Interdisciplinary School (NIS) is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Teacher Assistant to join our Infant & Toddler Childcare Program.
In this role, you'll work alongside experienced teachers to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where infants and toddlers can learn, grow, and thrive. Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing daily lessons and activities that support children's growth and development.
- Help children with daily routines, including feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing, and other activities of daily living while following universal precautions.
- Foster a warm, caring, and emotionally supportive classroom environment.
- Support smooth transitions throughout the day and encourage positive social interactions.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, coworkers, and administration.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Participate in required staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Follow all school policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or young children is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Positive, patient, and team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
- Must be able to lift and carry children weighing up to 45 pounds multiple times throughout the day.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.02 - $19.50 per hour
