Qualifications:
Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED and pass a State Competency Test, if applicant has not held a prior position within the classification for the job posting.
School Service Personnel Competency Test for Custodian will be given by the Pocahontas County Board of Education in a location to be determined by number of applicants. .
Note: At time of testing, applicants MUST provide driver's license, Social Security card, current address, current phone number, and date of birth.
Job Summary:

Keeps buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat, clean, and free of litter at all times;

Disinfects all water fountains, floors in the restrooms, commodes, urinals, and sinks;

Performs ground keeping duties as assigned;

Secures all windows and doors, turns off all lights (except emergency lights), and arms any alarm systems at the end of each day;
- Regulates heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide a temperature appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity;

Maintains positive work habits;

Performs duties efficiently and productively;

Promotes and maintains positive pupil-staff-community relations;

Adheres to Employee Code of Conduct as outlined in Pocahontas County Schools policy;

Performs duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor(s).
