Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner
Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test
Fill out testing orders per physician
Send out prescriptions per physician orders
Orders & explain testing to the patient
Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back
Review procedure and instructions with the patient
Escort patients to check-out
Check voicemails & enter messages into NextGen
Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought
Ensure that charts have been checked, and the proper paperwork is included
Travel required· Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics
Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
Other related duties as assigned
