The Accounting Systems Analyst will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining data-driven reporting and analytics solutions across the accounting and finance functions. This individual will leverage tools such as SQL, Power BI, and Excel to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple systems, ultimately building KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools that support strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain financial and operational reports, dashboards, and analytics using SQL, Power BI, and Excel
- Extract and manipulate data from various systems and databases to support accounting and business intelligence initiatives
- Build and automate KPI tracking and performance metrics across accounting, finance, and operations
- Translate business requirements into technical data solutions and scalable reporting tools
- Develop data models and structured datasets for consistent and reliable reporting
- Partner with accounting and finance teams to improve data visibility, reporting accuracy, and decision-making capabilities
- Identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights within financial and operational data
- Maintain data integrity and ensure accuracy across reporting platforms
- Support system improvements, integrations, and enhancements related to accounting and reporting tools
- Create documentation and provide training for end users on reporting tools and dashboards
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Business Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
- 1+ years of experience in accounting systems, financial reporting, or data analytics
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and data extraction
- Experience with Power BI (or similar BI tools) for dashboard and report development
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling, etc.)
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial data structures
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally between accounting, IT, and operations teams
