Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for the overall management of the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information while providing leadership to the accounting team and supporting executive management with timely financial analysis. The Controller plays a key role in managing cash flow, improving financial processes, supporting audits, maintaining lender relationships, and driving operational efficiencies.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management
- Oversee all accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, and Cash Management.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial results and provide meaningful recommendations to executive leadership.
- Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Cash Flow & Treasury
- Manage daily cash flow and liquidity planning.
- Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor banking relationships and debt compliance.
- Coordinate funding requests with lenders and financing partners.
- Optimize working capital through effective management of receivables, payables, and inventory.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process.
- Develop monthly and quarterly financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and identify variances.
- Provide recommendations for cost control and profitability improvements.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Establish and maintain strong internal accounting controls.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Coordinate annual financial audits and tax preparation.
- Manage corporate insurance reporting and financial compliance requirements.
- Maintain documentation supporting financial transactions and policies.
Operational Support
- Partner with Operations, Sales, Purchasing, and Production to improve financial performance.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and gross margins.
- Support pricing analysis and profitability by product line and customer.
- Monitor inventory controls and work closely with operations to improve inventory accuracy.
ERP & Systems Management
- Maintain integrity of the ERP accounting system.
- Lead financial system improvements and automation initiatives.
- Develop financial reports and dashboards for management.
- Ensure proper accounting configuration within ERP systems.
Leadership
- Supervise and develop accounting personnel.
- Establish departmental goals and performance expectations.
- Mentor staff and promote continuous improvement.
- Foster accountability and professional development within the finance team.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
