Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Respiratory Therapist specializing in Home Health care for patients with COPD and other respiratory conditions. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate respiratory function and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, nebulization, and ventilator management, ensuring safety and efficacy.
- Manage airway devices and ventilators, adjusting settings as needed to optimize patient comfort and breathing.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques, medication administration, and device usage to promote independence.
- Monitor vital signs and physiological responses during treatments, documenting findings accurately in medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans for complex cases such as COPD exacerbations or post-surgical recovery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pulmonology, and critical care practices to provide evidence-based interventions.
Experience
- Proven experience in hospital medicine or critical care environments such as ICU or emergency medicine.
- Hands-on experience with airway management, ventilator systems, and acute care procedures.
- Familiarity with hospital settings including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Experience working with pediatric (pediatrics) and geriatric populations across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pulmonology principles essential for accurate patient assessment.
- Prior clinic or outpatient home health experience preferred; familiarity with Level I Trauma Center protocols is a plus.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to respiratory therapy or critical care are advantageous.
