Job Overview
Local Utility Company in Geneva is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a well versed background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience in heavy equipment operation and diagnostics preferred. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team to ensure all vehicles and machinery are operating efficiently and safely. Pay DOE.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, and powertrain inspections.
- Order parts from approved vendor, and travel to pick up parts with company vehicle when needed.
- Respond to any service calls in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Maintain records on all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Track recalls, inspection dates, and warranties for all vehicles.
- Clean and maintain the garage area and equipment.
- Utilize a wide variety of hand and power tools, torches, and welding equipment.
- Ensure that all proper safety gear and/or equipment is used whenever necessary.
- Check board daily for sheets turned in by staff reporting any mechanical issues.
- Effectively communicate with owners and employees to provide a time frame for completion of repair work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Diagnose automotive electrical systems and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
Skills
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic or in a similar role.
- Automotive Certification (preferred)
- Experience with general shop equipment (tire machine, lifts, wheel alignment machine etc.)
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment.
- Possess all necessary tools to work in a shop.
- Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving
- Familiarity with automotive electrical systems and their components.
Valid NYS Driver's license required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
