Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting clinical laboratory testing utilizing our company’s patented technology platform, Topographic Genotyping, and next generation sequencing. Maintains lab documentation to comply with Good Laboratory Practices. Supports work of Director of Laboratory Operations and Chief Scientific Officer.
Shift: 11:30am - 8pm
Duties:
- Performs lab work associated with Topographia Genotyping, including PCR and genetic analysis, as well as other techniques and processes as may be required to support the scientific and commercial needs of the Company. Accurately conducts analysis/examination using validated methods and reporting of results.
- Documents lab processes and procedures, adheres to established laboratory protocols in compliance with regulating bodies.
- Properly uses and maintains lab equipment, lab reagents and supplies, and calibrates equipment as/when necessary.
- Provides necessary support for smooth operation and delivery of Company’s services.
- May train or oversee new Laboratory Technologists.
- Reviews NY State Standards and CAP checklists and assists in preparation for inspections.
- Participates in identifying and making changes in process to improve quality of analyses.
- Handles special projects and other tasks as assigned.
- Participates in the maintenance of the Quality Management System and quality control program regarding all aspects of laboratory operations, ensuring the integrity of analytical testing and results. This includes preparing and updating SOPs, use of appropriate controls and QA of results.
- Performs duties in compliance w/ laboratory safety & infection control practices.
- Maintain competency through performance evaluation and proficiency testing.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years experience in a clinical or research laboratory environment; commercial laboratory is preferred.
- BS degree in a lab based scientific discipline that provides the foundation for understanding the applicable science used in the Company.
