We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our dynamic mental health and social services team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and clinical evaluations using evidence-based practices and standardized tools such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Deliver individual, group, family, and youth therapy sessions utilizing modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavior management techniques.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to effectively manage urgent situations involving clients experiencing PTSD symptoms, grief, or co-occurring disorders.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and ensure ongoing progress tracking within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Provide telehealth therapy sessions utilizing secure platforms to expand access to mental health services across various settings.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines while ensuring accurate medical documentation and records management.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
- Proven experience working with individuals with SUD; outpatient experience highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), trauma-focused therapy, and addiction counseling.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic evaluation and documentation purposes.
- Experience providing crisis management, grief counseling, or trauma-informed care in clinical settings.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation standards; experience with EMR/EHR systems essential.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to build rapport across diverse populations.
