The Fitness Trainer is responsible for delivering Planet Fitness’s group fitness program (PE@PF), supporting members in achieving their fitness goals, and ensuring a safe, supportive, and motivating environment. The role includes conducting classes, educating members on equipment usage, and supporting front desk activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the PE@PF program by conducting scheduled group fitness classes.

Educate members on proper use of gym equipment and safe workout techniques.

Provide fitness consultations and assist members in developing basic fitness routines.

Prepare bi-weekly updates to fitness programming content.

Meet the expected number of fitness classes based on member traffic and club size.

Assist with front desk operations:

Answer member calls and provide accurate information.

Check in members and provide facility tours.

Help with new member enrollment and account updates.

Address member questions or concerns and escalate as appropriate.

Predictable and reliable attendance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Current CPR Certification required.

Valid National Personal Training Certification required.

Energetic, positive, and professional demeanor.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to listen, empathize, and problem solve effectively.

Basic computer proficiency.
Enforceable Physical Requirements (ADA-Compliant):
- Must be able to stand and walk continuously for up to 8 hours per shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must be able to demonstrate exercise movements, assist members with form, and provide physical instruction, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally, such as moving equipment or fitness accessories. Reasonable accommodations will be made for those unable to meet this requirement.

Must be able to bend, reach, squat, kneel, or stretch during routine duties such as demonstrating exercises or cleaning equipment.

Must have sufficient auditory and verbal communication skills to interact with members in a gym environment.

Will occasionally be exposed to cleaning agents and disinfectants; appropriate PPE and training will be provided.
