Build the market. Run the business. Lead the team.
If you’re the kind of person who takes pride in building something that lasts—and you don’t mind putting in the work to get it there—we should talk.
At Warehouse on Wheels, our General Managers don’t sit back and manage. They own their market—from sales and operations to team development and financial performance.
Think “local business owner” mindset, not “corporate executive”.
What you’ll own:
-
Grow the business – Build relationships, win customers, and get trailers on rent
-
Run the operation – Keep equipment ready, safe, and meeting demand
-
Drive performance – Use data and day-to-day awareness to stay on track
-
Lead your team – Hire, coach, and develop people who show up and deliver
-
Own the numbers – Budget, pricing, utilization, and collections
-
Solve problems quickly – When issues pop up, you address them head-on
-
Stay close to customers – You know your accounts and where the next opportunity is
This is a “roll-up-your-sleeves, lead-from-the-front” role—not a desk job.
What success looks like:
-
Equipment is moving and utilization is strong
-
Customer relationships are growing—and so is the business
-
Your team is accountable, engaged, and improving
-
You know your numbers and can pivot quickly when needed
What we need from you:
-
Builder mindset – You’d rather grow something than maintain it
-
Balanced operator – Strong in both sales and operations
-
Low ego, high ownership – You don’t need a title to lead
-
Reliable and responsive – You follow through every time
- Team-first leader – You bring people along and develop them
-
Comfortable in the field – Yard, customer site, office—you’re good in all environments
- Experience in transportation, equipment rental, logistics, or a similar field
-
Proven ability to grow business, accounts, or a location
-
Understanding of both financial performance and day-to-day operations
-
Strong communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills
Why WOW:
-
Real ownership—you’ll make decisions that directly impact your market
-
A team that values hard work, accountability, and helping each other win
-
Opportunity to build something meaningful—not just maintain it
-
No unnecessary layers or red tape
Columbus is built on consistency, reliability, and doing things the right way—and that’s exactly what works here. If you’re someone who builds trust through follow-through and takes pride in delivering results, you’ll fit right in.
If you’re ready to step into a role where you can build a market, lead a team, and own the outcome, we’d love to connect.
