American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in cardiac catheterization procedures to join a hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab.

Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab unit performing peripheral, DVT, LHC, RHC, biopsy, and structural heart procedures
-
Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
-
13-week contract assignment
-
May be required to take on-call shifts
-
Rotates room, case, and call-back assignments with other qualified staff
-
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Cath Lab setting
-
Current BLS certification (AHA required)
-
Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start of assignment

License required if applicable

Proficiency in patient assessment, monitoring, and care including vital signs, pulse oximetry, venous and arterial access, urinary catheterization, suturing, and compression

Skilled in wire and catheter manipulation and placement as permitted by license
-
Experience with sterile field maintenance and infection control standards

Prepare and position patients, select anatomic and technical parameters, and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice

Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormal activity

Follow radiation safety procedures and document patient radiation exposure

Perform diagnostic, specialized radiographic, and cardiovascular invasive procedures

Produce quality radiographic images for physician interpretation and perform complex image manipulation and data analysis

Manage inventory including stock rotation, supply ordering, and case-specific charging and documentation

Perform procedure scheduling, obtain authorizations, and confirm physician privileges as needed

Provide patient and family education pre- and post-procedure, including discharge instructions

Respond to emergency situations and call-backs within departmental timeframes

Local candidates are accepted, though a radius rule may apply which could affect pay rate depending on facility location
