Job Overview
We are seeking an Architectural Millwork & Casework Designer / Cabinet Vision Engineer to join our growing commercial team.
This position focuses on commercial cabinetry, architectural millwork, and casework drafting utilizing Cabinet Vision, Alpha CAM, and AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will have experience in woodworking, cabinet manufacturing, commercial millwork, CNC-based production, or casework drafting.
This is not a civil, structural, or mechanical engineering position. We are specifically seeking candidates with experience related to cabinetry, millwork, woodworking production, CNC programming, and shop drawing development.
The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Production Managers, CNC operators, and Install teams to transform project concepts into production-ready shop drawings and manufacturing documentation.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed shop drawings and production drawings for commercial cabinetry, architectural millwork, and casework projects
- Utilize Cabinet Vision, AlphaCAM, and AutoCAD to prepare projects for CNC production
- Generate cut lists, machining details, hardware specifications, and production documentation
- Support CNC-ready programming and manufacturing workflows
- Coordinate directly with Project Managers, Production Managers, CNC operators, and shop fabrication teams
- Review architectural plans and field dimensions for constructability and manufacturing efficiency
- Assist with material ordering and maintenance of cabinet and product libraries
- Work with shop personnel to improve production flow and manufacturing efficiency
- Help troubleshoot production and installation issues when needed
- Maintain organized electronic drawing files and revision control
- Participate in project coordination and departmental meetings

Qualifications
- 2+ years of Cabinet Vision, Alpha CAM, AutoCAD, or millwork drafting experience preferred
- Experience in cabinetry, woodworking, millwork, or commercial casework preferred
- Understanding of cabinet construction methods, hardware, materials, and fabrication processes
- Experience with CNC manufacturing workflows preferred
- Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and installation teams

Work Environment
This position primarily operates in a professional office setting but may occasionally require time in manufacturing and production areas. Candidates should be comfortable working around woodworking equipment, CNC machinery, and active shop environments.
