Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the assembly of menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Cook and plate dishes efficiently while maintaining high quality and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cookware
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures at all times
- Support meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supply needs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service hours
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Knowledge of kitchen safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as knives, ovens, stoves, and dishwashers safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus but not mandatory
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
