Job Description:
Job Summary: As a Delivery Specialist, you'll deliver the great H-E-B experience our Customers know and love wherever they may be. You'll work directly alongside Curbside Partners as you retrieve, load, and deliver orders. You'll also train and mentor Delivery Partners. You'll be allowed to accept and keep all tips you earn while completing deliveries. There is no cap on the amount of tips you may earn, and H-E-B will make sure your hourly rate doesn't fall below $19.50 per hour.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Driving / Delivery Operations:

Serves as liaison between Curbside and H-E-B Delivery Operations; role models a total team collaborative relationship

Helps retrieve orders from Curbside and loads product in delivery vehicle; preserves condition during pickup and delivery

Engages with Customer prior to, during, and after delivery for an exceptional customer experience

Delivers Customer orders to specified location accurately, safely, and on time

Unloads Customer orders from delivery vehicle; obtains Customer signature for order; may assist with getting order inside

Complies with all traffic / safety laws and H-E-B policies

Maintains cleanliness of vehicle; reports maintenance problems

Reports maintenance issues and equipment needs

Serves as subject matter expert on H-E-B Delivery processes for other eStore and Delivery Partners

Provides real-time, on-the-job coaching and feedback to H-E-B Delivery Partners as needed

Mentors / coaches on Delivery-related processes and systems (e.g., mobile app, retrieving / loading / unloading / closing out orders, cleaning and sanitation, fueling and washing vehicle, accident reporting)

May perform other duties and attend trainings and meetings as assigned

Coaches on excellent customer service and customer communication (in person and in-app)

Supports new Partner onboarding; answers questions / provides additional training as needed

Work Experience:

6+ months of experience as an H-E-B Delivery Partner, or related experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Excellent driving record
-
No moving violations or preventable accidents in the past 3 years

No DWI, DUI, or related convictions; no felony convictions
-
No suspended or revoked driver licenses, permits, or privileges in any state / county (mandatory)

Working knowledge of H-E-B Delivery-related processes

Advanced customer service skill

Advanced interpersonal skills

Strong communication skills

Ability to train and mentor; ability to identify and coach behaviors as they occur

Ability to meet / maintain company and regulatory driving record requirements

Ability to work as part of a team and lead a small team without direct supervision

Ability to work a flexible schedule

Ability to role model high-performance standards, including Time & Attendance and Delivery metrics (on-time deliveries, etc.)

Willingness to work while exposed to hot, wet, or cold weather conditions

Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
Licenses/Certifications:
-
Must have a valid U.S. driver's license for 3+ years and currently have a valid Class C Texas driver's license (no CDL required)

Pass a drug screen / background and Motor Vehicle Records check at time of entry and on a periodic basis

Successfully complete H-E-B's driver training program mandatory
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Regularly lift up to 55 lbs

Load / unload delivery vehicles

Work in varying weather and traffic conditions; work while exposed to hot, wet, cold, and weather conditions
