Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of carpentry tasks on commercial and residential projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of projects that meet client specifications and industry standards. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute carpentry tasks.
- Construct, install, repair, and maintain structures such as framing, formwork, siding, roofing, cabinetry, doors, and fixtures.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete various construction activities.
- Perform concrete forming, rebar installation, drywall finishing, plastering, stucco application, and flooring installation as needed.
- Fabricate custom woodwork or metal components in the shop or on-site for specific project requirements.
- Assist with remodeling projects, restoration work including water damage remediation and mold removal, as well as heavy lifting tasks.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while maintaining a clean and organized work environment on construction sites.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a journeyman or skilled carpenter with a strong background in construction estimating, framing, trim carpentry, and roofing.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery (if applicable), and other fabrication equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of various construction disciplines including masonry, plumbing, electrical work, metal stud framing, and tile laying is preferred.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety procedures and quality standards.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights; comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and project managers.
- Certification or experience in restoration industry practices such as water damage restoration or mold remediation is a plus.
