Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm and Security Systems Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience working with fire alarm systems, security systems, camera (CCTV) systems, and access control. Candidates should be located in or near the Venice area and able to respond to service and installation needs efficiently. Work vehicle is available.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire life-safety and security systems to ensure the protection of our clients’ properties. The position requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings, and familiarity with NEC & NFPA standards and applicable codes. Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain alarm systems including fire alarms, security alarms, camera's system and access control systems.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of existing alarm systems to identify issues and implement repairs.
- Read and interpret schematics and drawings to ensure accurate installation and compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize hand tools and electrical equipment safely and effectively during installation and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with construction teams for inspection of alarm system installations to ensure adherence to local codes and regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries regarding alarm system functionality and features.
- Assist in alarm system sales by providing technical expertise to potential customers during consultations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with low voltage systems, including alarm installations.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools effectively.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and components relevant to alarm technologies.
- Understanding of NEC & NFPA standards & codes as they pertain to alarm systems.
- NICET certification is preferred but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
