Truck Driver
Summary of Position
The Driver / Operator is responsible for operating a commercial vehicle to transport equipment, goods and/or personnel. You will be required to operate a Class A truck/trailer through all types of environments, including off road job sites.
Essential Job Requirements

Clean Driving Record- no more than two violations within the past 3 years.

Comply with the Hours of Services (HOS) for Intrastate and Interstate.

Drive long distances while abiding by Hours of Service requirements.
-
Transport passengers in a safe and lawful manner, including ensuring all passengers are properly secured with seat belt.

Be organized, punctual and reliable.
-
Excellent driving skills and habits (Smith Driving principles).
-
Enforce “No Smoking” policy in vehicle.

Conduct Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR). Inspect vehicle, trailer, and all required parts and accessories before and after trip; address all issues found prior to operating vehicle. Check shipping papers to determine nature of load and any special handling; check load and methods of securing it and abide by proper weight restrictions.

Operate company vehicle in compliance with company rules and all applicable state and federal regulations, and in accordance with accepted principles of safe driving.

Cell phone use during operation of vehicle assigned to driver, will be by use of a hands-free device, earpiece, speaker phone function or Voice Activated Dialing.

Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.

Deliver and pick up oilfield equipment and/or fluids as required.

Load and unload oilfield equipment and/or fluids as required.

Obtain proper signature on delivery forms.
-
Report all accidents, incidents of equipment damage, spills involving driver or company equipment to immediate supervisor immediately.

Follow accident procedures if accident occurs.

Maintain vehicle log according to state and federal regulations.

Take required (8) eight hour consecutive break during (24) twenty-four hour period to restart drive time.

Must have a (24) twenty-four hour restart under Texas (7) seven day/(70) seventy hour rule for driving under Department of Transportation (DOT) capacity

Keep truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.

Assist personnel from other South Texas Oilfield Solutions divisions as needed.

Ability to safely operate commercial vehicle.

Ability to read and navigate a map.
-
Understand and adhere to regulations regarding load securement.
-
Secure oilfield equipment on a flatbed trailer without instruction.
-
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and/or Experience
-
Must Possess a Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and other proper endorsements as required.

Ability to create and maintain accurate, timely, and complete records. Required Skills

Must have 2 years of experience in delivery or transportation of goods.

Mechanical aptitude required.
-
Good oral communication skills.
-
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.

Possession of a valid Class A Commerical Driver’s License (CDL).
-
Possess a valid Medical Card obtained throught South Texas Oilfield Solutions licensed Doctor.
-
2 years of driving experience with a clean CDL record with no more than two violations.
Physical Requirements
-
Work is performed in the outdoors in extreme heat and cold, or in shop, non-smoke work environments.
-
Ability to perform repetitious lifting of up to 50 lbs. regularly.
-
Work requires alert individuals with good balance, sight, hearing and physical strength.
-
Must be able to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb, as necessary.
-
Repetitious twisting, bending at the waist, bending to crouched position, reaching for items that are on the ground.
-
Ability to reach overhead and perform twisting or hammering.
-
Ability to stand and walk for up to Fifteen(15) hour spans of time.
-
Possess hand-eye coordination and dexterity in the repetitious use of tools, including pipe wrench at ground level and hammering with 8-10 lb. sledgehammers.

Safely operate a vehicle or forklift as needed. Forklift only to be operated with current training certification obtained through South Texas Oilfield Solutions.

Ability to drive and/or ride in a vehicle for up to twelve (12) hours.

Be clean-shaven such that you are able to properly wear respirator mask and/or any other type of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
Mental Requirements

Extreme cognitive requirements – ability to use creative thinking to originate new methodologies, concepts, or programs; or to solve highly complex and unique problems impacting major programs; or to perform highly technical procedures requiring specialized skills.

Required to complete competency exams.
Working Conditions

Ability to travel frequently to company locations/work sites.
-
Competitor attire not permitted.

Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties, including, but not limited to, a respirator mask, steel-toed boots, fire retardant clothing, and H2S monitor.

Comply with company and customer Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) policies, procedures, industry standards, and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) state and federal guidelines

Must comply with all State and Federal DOT Regulations.

Obtain necessary certification and ability to safely operate a vehicle, forklift as needed.

Participate in and successfully complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
-
Pass DOT Drug & Alcohol Pre-Employment, Physical Agility test and post-offer throughout employment.
