Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as medication administration, procedures, and basic life support during emergencies.
- Support patient service activities by answering questions, providing instructions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately for documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and treatment plans.
- Conduct routine clinical procedures within outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings, including anatomy and physiology assessments.
- Prepare examination rooms and assist during procedures
- Support medical administrative functions, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient check-in/out processes.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and hospital medicine practices.
- Proficiency with EHR systems and familiarity with ICD coding for accurate billing and documentation.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic life support certification.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations, including geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Knowledge of outpatient workflows
