Description:
Forest Area Community Schools is seeking a welcoming, organized, and reliable Elementary School Secretary for our Grades PK-3 building to serve a close-knit district of approximately 500 students.
Key Responsibilities

Front Office Operations: Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, visitors, students, and staff; manage main office phone calls and daily communications with positivity and tact.

Attendance & Records: Track daily attendance, process student check-ins/check-outs, handle enrollment paperwork, and maintain accurate records in the student management database.

Pupil Accounting Support: Work closely with the district pupil accountant to ensure accurate enrollment data, official student count day documentation, and state reporting compliance.

Administrative Support: Assist the elementary principal with daily operations, scheduling, announcements, and parent communications.

Student Care: Administer basic first aid for minor playground bumps/scrapes, maintain medication logs per policy, and notify parents when a child is unwell.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, prior secretarial/administrative experience preferred).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace and comfort learning school management software, PowerSchool knowledge helpful

Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others

Strong multitasking skills with the ability to remain calm and helpful during busy office hours.
