Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, hallways, lobbies, and public areas using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment
- Handle chemical agents safely, following safety data sheets (SDS) and hotel protocols for chemical handling and storage
- Conduct floor care activities including vacuuming, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain pristine surfaces
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving furniture or supplies to support housekeeping operations
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained in good working order and properly stored after use
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly and accurately in case of incidents or safety concerns
- Support hotel housekeeping management by completing assigned custodial tasks efficiently and reporting maintenance issues promptly
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping, custodial work, or industrial cleaning environments
- Strong knowledge of floor cleaning techniques including vacuuming, floor polishing, and carpet care
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members
- Skilled in manual handling and heavy lifting with proper safety precautions
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, mops, and other janitorial tools
- Understanding of hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols within a hospitality setting
- Experience with hotel housekeeping management or janitorial supervision is a plus but not required
