Job Description
PURPOSE:
Assure Wyman-Gordon Grafton and Dillon Quality systems and procedures satisfy government and customer requirements, and assure compliance of product shipped to contractual requirements. Direct and lead quality team members to execute the business objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Main point of contact with customers, regulatory, and government agencies on all quality related issues, and audits
Maintain and update the Quality Manual
Control and approve internal procedures
Ensure proper auditing of Wyman-Gordon Grafton and Dillon for compliance
Proactively identifies risks, hidden quality costs, or inspection requirements (fixturing, tooling, testing surveillance)
Manage personnel responsible for quality planning, release of product and raw material, and the final certification of product.
Manage the Level III NDT Examiners responsible for personnel qualification, special process certifications, procedure generation, and audits
Function as the Management Representative as required by ISO-9001, AS9100
Responsible for ensuring compliance with NADCAP, ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Drives reduction of operational delays related to approval of QA Plans, waivers, submissions and customer approvals
Manage personnel performing source inspection, audit, and release of product from subcontract suppliers
Manage quality engineering group to drive continuous improvement and conformance to customer requirements
Provide metrics and weekly report data for Senior leadership team
Other duties as assigned by Vice President and General Manager
REQUIREMENTS:
BS minimum, MS, or 10 years of experience in quality related functions preferred
Training as ISO9001/AS9100 Lead Auditor
Training in AMS2750 preferred
Knowledge or experience required in the following areas: Melting Processes, Forge Processes, Metallurgy, NDT Testing, Material Testing, Heat Treatment and furnace qualification requirements, Blue Print and Specification interpretation, SPC, Machining processes, Customer specifications and requirements, Calibration requirements
Ability to travel frequently between Grafton and Dillon
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of Quality based computer systems (NDT, Syteline, QMS)
Good PC skills with Microsoft Office applications, Minitab, CATIA, SmarTeam, and Gagetrak.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $140,000 to $180,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 3X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 160 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
