Position Overview:
The Commercial Garage Door Assistant supports experienced technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial garage doors, dock equipment, operators, and related systems. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, eager to learn a skilled trade, and interested in building a long-term career in the garage door industry.
Responsibilities:

Assist lead technicians with the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of commercial garage doors and related equipment

Support repairs involving springs, cables, tracks, rollers, operators, and hardware components

Transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites safely and efficiently

Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies from company vehicles
-
Perform basic construction and installation tasks, including drilling, cutting, fastening, and assembling components under direct supervision
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all job sites

Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations
-
Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly when authorized

Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
-
Complete other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age
-
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record

Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
-
Reliable transportation to report to the shop and assigned job sites

Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled trade

Ability to work at heights, including ladders, lifts, and elevated work platforms
-
Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, and standing
-
Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and arms while performing installation and repair tasks

Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. and climbing ladders

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions
