CTE TEACHER – DIGITAL/VIDEO PRODUCTION (40%)

QUALIFICATIONS
• Valid CTE Credential in Arts, Media and Entertainment required or California Secondary Credential and willingness
to obtain Career Technical Education credential for CTE pathway by August 10, 2026
- Commitment to Los Alamitos Unified School District’s mission, vision and priority goals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and work closely with a wide-range of
stakeholders
- Passion for working with children; ability to motivate and support students in reaching high levels of academic
success
- Ability to efficiently interpret, manage, and utilize multiple sets of data in order to best support student progress
- A results-oriented, goal-driven, collaborative approach to work
- Ability to learn laws, rules, policies, practices and procedures related to public education and specific to Los Alamitos
Unified School District
- Well-grounded in learning and reinforcement theory
- Ability to work with students individually and in small or large groups
- Ability to be flexible and revise priorities in accordance with requirements of student needs, school goals and district
priorities along with a strong commitment to learn
- Proficient in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, iMovie and other video production and editing software
- Outstanding skills in problem-solving, critical-thinking, innovation and creativity
- Successful classroom teaching experience preferred
- Willingness to supervise academic club or activity preferred
ASSIGNMENT
- Teaching two sections of digital video classes at a four-year high school
- Provide instruction on cinema/video production, cinematography techniques, sound editing, script writing, animation, graphic
design and more
- Provide a video production technical pathway for students
- Assignment begins: August 10, 2026
SALARY AND BENEFITS
• Placement on Career Technical Education Credentialed Salary Schedule with starting salary between $51,341 (Step 1) -
$84,045 (Step 10), pro-rated to 40% plus annual Merit stipend between $5,000-$8,000; maximum outside years
accepted nine; up to two years credit for Substitute Teaching experience
- Placement on the Certificated Salary Schedule with starting salary between $75,315 (Step 1) - $114,714 (Step 10) , pro-
rated to 40% if hold a CTE and any standard CA teaching credential
- Generous fringe benefit package including medical/dental/vision/life insurance for employee; dependent coverage
available
