Summary:
Welds stainless steel tanks and assemblies using MIG welding equipment in a shop environment, following layouts, welding diagrams, blueprints, and work orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
Perform welding operations safely in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.

Read and interpret tank sketches, blueprints, welding diagrams, and work orders.

Accurately measure materials using a tape measure and other basic measuring tools.

Position parts in jigs, fixtures, or by clamping components together per layout marks.

Select appropriate welder settings based on welding charts, material type, and thickness.

Perform MIG welding on 300-series stainless steel components, including vertical and overhead welds.

Lay out, position, and tack weld workpieces prior to final welding.

Examine completed welds for bead size, appearance, and compliance with specifications.

Grind, chip, or remove excess weld, slag, or spatter as required.

Clean, degrease, and prepare parts before and after welding.

Perform repairs to cracked or damaged metal components, including filling holes and building up material.

Assist with tank pressure testing in accordance with written procedures, specifications, and supervision.

Maintain welding equipment in proper working condition, including torches, wire, and machines.

Complete required quality control and production documentation.

Willingness to learn new welding and other technologies as adopted.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on a daily basis.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Experience:-
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience welding 300-series stainless steel, preferably in the 12-gauge thickness range, in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.

Experience with tank fabrication is preferred.
Education:-
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required with relevant welding experience.
Skills and Abilities:-
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying.

Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods.

Ability to safely navigate and work in a fabrication shop environment.

Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with welding tools and shop equipment.
Language Skills:-
Ability to read and understand simple instructions, work orders, and safety documentation.

Ability to complete basic written documentation.

Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
Mathematical Skills:-
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide basic numbers.

Ability to apply measurements involving length, weight, and volume.
