Traveling Project Manager – Mission Critical
Aurum Construction, part of the Goldenrod Companies platform, is seeking experienced Traveling Project Managers to lead large-scale mission critical projects throughout the Midwest and Southeast.
This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing self-perform structural concrete contractor with a strong pipeline of large, technically complex projects across the country. The Traveling Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management and successful delivery of assigned projects, with a focus on cost, schedule, quality, safety, and client relationships.
The ideal candidate is a proactive project leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands aggressive mission critical schedules, and can effectively manage project financials, procurement, field coordination, and client expectations from preconstruction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead assigned projects from preconstruction and mobilization through completion and closeout.
- Manage overall project cost, schedule, quality, and financial performance.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and cash flow projections.
- Partner closely with Superintendents and field leadership to drive project execution and critical schedule milestones.
- Manage subcontractor and vendor procurement, contracts, scopes of work, and change orders.
- Coordinate material, equipment, and manpower needs to support aggressive project schedules.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change documentation, pay applications, and other project documentation.
- Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and potential project risks.
- Track project progress and proactively identify cost, schedule, procurement, or execution issues.
- Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication with general contractors, owners, design teams, vendors, and internal leadership.
- Manage owner and subcontractor change orders, including pricing, negotiation, and documentation.
- Monitor project profitability and provide accurate monthly forecasting and reporting.
- Support quality control and ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans and specifications.
- Coordinate project closeout, punch lists, final documentation, and turnover.
- Mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience managing large, complex commercial, industrial, or mission critical projects.
- Mission critical/data center experience strongly preferred.
- Self-perform concrete experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of project financials, forecasting, scheduling, procurement, and contract management.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and project contracts.
- Experience working closely with field teams and managing fast-paced project schedules.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to anticipate project risks and develop solutions before they impact cost or schedule.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Midwest and Southeast.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
