South Plains Community Action Association (SPCAA) is seeking a detail-oriented Nutrition Technician to support the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate reimbursement, supporting child care providers, and maintaining compliance with USDA and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) guidelines.
What You’ll Do
- Review and validate CACFP meal counts and billing for accuracy and compliance
- Prepare and submit reimbursement claims
- Maintain organized records to support audits and program requirements
- Provide technical assistance to child care providers on CACFP rules and processes
- Assist with monitoring activities, trainings, and provider support
- Identify discrepancies and report concerns to ensure program integrity
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience with billing, data entry, or compliance review preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to learn and apply federal/state regulations (CACFP)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Additional Requirements
- Must pass background and drug screening
- Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel occasionally within the region
