Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Order Picker Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient and accurate selection of products to fulfill customer orders, utilizing a variety of heavy equipment including Cherry Picker, reach trucks, Electric Pallet Jack. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, and a commitment to safety standards such as OSHA regulations. You will play a vital role in maintaining smooth warehouse operations, supporting shipping and receiving processes, and contributing to overall warehouse distribution efficiency. Key responsibilities include operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment for order picking, loading and unloading.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Cherry Picker, Reach Truck, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to pick, load, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Accurately select items based on order picker systems, ensuring correct quantities and product specifications
- Load and unload shipments efficiently while maintaining safety standards in accordance with OSHA guidelines
- Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing goods against documentation
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper documentation within the warehouse management system
- Perform routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure operational safety and efficiency
- Assist with warehouse distribution tasks by organizing stock locations and managing materials handling processes
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve order picking procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, Cherry Picker, and electric pallet jack.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards for equipment operation and materials handling
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse distribution is highly desirable
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for order picking and inventory management
- Demonstrated ability to lift heavy loads safely during heavy lifting tasks
- Previous roles involving warehouse experience or materials handling will be considered an asset
