Behavior Intervention Implementor (BII) – School-Based
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and dependable Behavior Intervention Implementor (BII) to provide school-based behavioral support for students with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related behavioral needs. This role involves working closely with students in general education, special education, and specialized classroom settings to promote positive behavior, academic engagement, social-emotional development, and independence.
As a BII, you will implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or clinical supervisor, using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. You will support students throughout the school day during instruction, transitions, recess, and structured or unstructured activities, ensuring safety, consistency, and dignity at all times.
This position is ideal for individuals pursuing or interested in careers in behavioral health, psychology, special education, social work, counseling, or education. It offers meaningful hands-on experience within a collaborative school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans and skill-building programs using ABA strategies
- Provide one-to-one or small group behavioral support within the classroom and school campus
- Support students with communication, social skills, emotional regulation, task engagement, and adaptive behaviors
- Assist students during daily routines, transitions, and non-preferred tasks using proactive and reinforcement-based strategies
- Collect, record, and submit accurate behavioral data and session documentation
- Respond appropriately to challenging behaviors using approved de-escalation and crisis intervention procedures
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, school administrators, families, and clinical supervisors
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Follow all school policies, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements (FERPA/HIPAA-compliant)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Prior experience working with children or adolescents in school, clinic, or community settings preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with ASD, developmental delays, or behavioral challenges is highly valued
- Knowledge of ABA principles, behavior management strategies, or crisis intervention is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and observation skills
- Ability to follow behavior plans with consistency and professionalism
- Reliable transportation and ability to work within school schedules
- Must pass background clearance and meet school district requirements
