The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and chairside assisting techniques. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental clinic.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipment for various treatments.
- Take and develop X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
- Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information in software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including medical documentation and coding.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist in the management of patient files.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures by providing compassionate care to young patients.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Experience with Dentrix is a plus.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
- Ability to perform medical imaging tasks using 3D scanners when necessary.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Certification in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to pursue certification is encouraged.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
