Job Title: Restaurant Assistant Manager
Reports to: Area Director
Summary
Willy’s Mexicana Grill is seeking a driven and hands-on Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of one of our fast-casual restaurants.
In this role, you will help lead a team of Team Members and Managers while supporting all aspects of the business, including operations, staffing, guest experience, and financial performance. You will play a key role in building a strong team culture and delivering on Willy’s commitment to fresh, high-quality food and exceptional service.
Success in this role is measured by your ability to drive sales, manage operations within budget, develop people, and deliver an Above & Beyond guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily restaurant operations with a focus on guest experience, team engagement, food safety, and operational excellence
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching team members and managers
- Lead and participate in pre-shift “Taco Talks” to communicate goals, celebrate wins, and align the team
- Manage labor, scheduling, food cost, and inventory to support financial goals
- Support administrative responsibilities including payroll, reporting, and P&L management
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and security standards
- Maintain HR compliance related to hiring, documentation, and performance management
- Resolve guest concerns professionally while reinforcing a customer-first culture
- Support local marketing and community engagement efforts to drive traffic and brand loyalty
- Model leadership behaviors that promote accountability, energy, and teamwork
What It Takes
- Passion for delivering excellent guest service and developing people
- Proven ability to execute manager-level responsibilities (2+ years preferred)
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including kitchen equipment and food safety standards
- Ability to manage in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must pass background and MVR checks
