Duties
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, service delivery, and staff management
- Supervise and motivate team members to ensure excellent customer service and efficient workflow
- Manage shift schedules, coordinate staffing needs, and handle shift management responsibilities
- Monitor inventory control processes, including food handling, food production, and supplies ordering to minimize waste and control costs
- Oversee food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations through regular training and supervision
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; perform cash handling duties with integrity
- Conduct staff training sessions on food preparation, customer service, food safety, and operational procedures to foster continuous improvement
- Support hiring efforts through interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members
- Maintain high standards of hospitality by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and a welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant environment
- Collaborate with kitchen management to oversee food quality, culinary standards, and kitchen operations including catering or banquet services if applicable
Experience
- Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Demonstrated supervisory or assistant manager experience within the food industry or hospitality sector
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for transaction processing and reporting
- Experience managing inventory control, budgeting, and food safety compliance in casual dining or fine dining settings
- Strong leadership skills with experience in staff training & development, team management, and interviewing candidates
- Knowledge of kitchen management practices including food handling, food production, catering, bar operations, and beverage service (barista or coffee experience is a plus)
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Background working in hotel or hospitality management environments is advantageous
