Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Experienced Meat Cutter / Butcher to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Perform precise meat cutting, trimming, slicing, and portioning using a variety of knives and meat processing machines, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
- Operate meat processing equipment safely and efficiently, adhering strictly to food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Prepare a wide range of meat products including beef, pork, poultry, fish, and other perishable goods with skillful cutting techniques.
- Maintain visual inspection for quality control by checking for freshness, proper color, texture, and overall appearance of products.
- Package meats according to industry standards and store them properly in refrigeration units to ensure freshness and safety.
- Follow food handling protocols diligently to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with food safety management systems.
- Assist customers with their meat selections by providing knowledgeable advice on cuts, preparation methods, and cooking tips while delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a meat cutter or butcher in retail stores or food industry settings; retail store experience is highly valued.
- Strong knife skills combined with expertise in meat cutting, slicing techniques, trimming methods, and visual quality inspection.
- Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures, food handling regulations, and perishable goods management.
- Ability to operate meat processing machines safely and efficiently; experience with fish handling is a plus.
- Basic math skills for accurate weight measurement and portioning; attention to detail is essential.
- Culinary or kitchen experience that demonstrates proficiency in food preparation and food industry standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively about product options and preparation tips.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
