Job Overview
You have a knack for hospitality, especially when it comes to bars and restaurants. You’re charismatic and love talking with people you’ve just met. You set a friendly and welcoming vibe that rubs off on the entire hospitality team which is important since you’re the first person guests will meet upon walking through our doors. In short, you’re a people person who knows how to read the room and adapt your service style accordingly. Critically for this multifaceted position, you should also have experience organizing special events and venue buyouts.
Job Details:
- $15/hr plus tips for hosting shifts
- $25/hr plus commission on every event
- Expected 20-25 hrs/wk as host and variable time on events
- Work schedule varies and may include working different shifts and holidays
- Night and weekend work is a must
Critical Responsibilities:
- Guest Experience:
- Manage reservation software and special events scheduling
- Liaise with guests when planning special events logistics and details
- Welcome all guests into the distillery with a positive attitude
- Seat guests in an organized and efficient manner
- Manage wait time expectations and the guest waiting area during busy times
- Ensure all guests feel accommodated and taken care of
- Gently manage intoxicated guests
- ID all guests upon entry to ensure all guests are 21+
- Retail:
- Manage sales of spirits, to-go cocktail, merchandise, and other such items
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal liquor laws
- Track inventory for retail goods and alert management to shortages
Qualifications (required):
- Prior experience coordinating events, ideally as an in-house coordinator
- Familiarity with POS systems and programs including reservation software
- TIPS certified or equivalent
- Must be able to work standing for multiple hours in a row
- Must be able to lift 25+lbs
Beneficial Skills and Experience (not required):
- Prior experience in similar roles at a bar and/or restaurant
- Knowledge of Korean food and beverages, especially soju
- Multilingual
