Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for the receipt, inspection, storage, movement, and distribution of materials throughout the facility. This position ensures accurate inventory transactions, timely fulfillment of production and job orders, safe forklift operation, and support of inventory control and shipping activities. The Material Handler plays a critical role in maintaining material flow and inventory accuracy to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive incoming materials, supplies, and products from vendors and carriers.
- Verify received shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, quantity discrepancies, and compliance with quality requirements.
- Accurately record and process inventory transactions in the inventory management system.
- Store materials in designated warehouse or inventory locations following established procedures.
- Pick, stage, and deliver materials for production, manufacturing, or customer job orders.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks while following company safety procedures.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies to supervisors.
- Support shipping operations by preparing, packaging, labeling, and staging outbound shipments.
- Assist in maintaining warehouse organization, cleanliness, and efficient material flow.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
- Work collaboratively with purchasing, production, quality, and shipping departments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous warehouse, material handling, inventory, or logistics experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control practices.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Experience using inventory management or ERP systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, pick lists, packing slips, and shipping documents.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
- Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment for extended periods.
- Work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
