Material Prep Technician:
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday - Thursday | 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM Overtime Opportunities Available
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Material Prep Technician to join our Fabrication Team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing fabricated metal, acrylic, and specialty components for final production by grinding, sanding, deburring, and finishing materials to meet high-quality standards.

What You’ll Do:
- Grind, sand, deburr, and finish fabricated metal, acrylic, and other materials using hand and power tools
- Prepare parts for welding, assembly, painting, or final production processes
- Remove imperfections, sharp edges, burrs, and surface defects to ensure a clean, professional finish
- Read and follow blueprints, drawings, work orders, and production instructions
- Perform quality inspections to verify parts meet specifications and company standards
- Safely operate grinders, sanders, polishing tools, and other fabrication equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Assist fabrication, welding, and production teams as needed to support workflow and project deadlines
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
Qualifications:
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and sanding equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and move throughout a 10-hour shift
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in metal fabrication, metal finishing, grinding, sanding, polishing, or manufacturing
- Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, acrylics, or custom fabricated products
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, or fabrication prints
- Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, or gauges
