Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting their favorite ice cream flavors and toppings.
- Prepare and serve ice cream cones, sundaes, floats, and other frozen treats following established recipes and safety standards.
- Operate POS systems such as TOAST POS to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash register operations, process cash, card, and digital payments while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
- Upsell additional products like toppings, beverages, or specialty items to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including sanitizing equipment, counters, and seating areas in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Manage food handling responsibilities responsibly by adhering to sanitation standards, proper food storage practices, and safety protocols.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ice cream machines, blenders, or refrigerators safely and efficiently.
- Ensure quick service delivery during busy hours by managing time effectively while maintaining high-quality customer interactions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or quick-service restaurants is highly preferred; retail or Ice Cream Shop experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems for processing transactions smoothly.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and managing retail math calculations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience operating kitchen equipment such as ice cream machines or refrigerators is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours while maintaining quality service.
