Role Description The Territory Sales Manager is a full-time hybrid-remote role responsible for driving sales growth and market penetration for Sonomed Escalon’s ophthalmic product portfolio within an assigned geographic territory. This role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing existing customer relationships, and presenting product solutions tailored to clinical and operational needs. The Territory Sales Manager leads ophthalmic ultrasound sales and clinical application efforts in the United States and Canada. This position combines direct territory management and advanced clinical education responsibilities to support revenue growth, customer satisfaction, product adoption, and high-quality user experiences.
The Territory Sales Manager provides direction, coaching, and clinical guidance to sales and clinical support resources, manages strategic customer relationships, performs product demonstrations and in-service training, and serves as a clinical subject matter expert for Sonomed Escalon ultrasound products. The Territory Sales Manager reports directly to the Director of Sales and works cross-functionally with marketing, product development, clinical support, technical support, and operations teams to achieve company objectives. The position requires remote-based work and travel to client sites, trade shows, industry meetings, and company facilities, as required (estimated 25-50%). Some international travel may be required.
General Duties
Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
· . Collaborate with the Director of Sales and senior management to establish sales objectives, develop action plans, identify growth opportunities, and ensure alignment with company goals. Track performance against revenue targets, monitor market activity, and adjust strategies as needed. Provide regular reporting on sales pipeline, forecast, customer activity, and performance.
· . Provide technical and clinical expertise for ophthalmic ultrasound products, including A-scan, B-scan, UBM, and related applications. Demonstrate product capabilities, explain clinical workflows, support troubleshooting, and communicate product benefits in a clear, credible, and customer-focused manner.
· . Manage prospecting, qualification, product demonstration, proposal development, closing, implementation coordination, and post-sales follow-up for all leads and clients within the assigned direct sales territory.
· . Cultivate and manage relationships with distributors, enterprise clients, physician leaders, clinical staff, and other key stakeholders. Support account penetration, customer retention, and adoption of Sonomed Escalon ultrasound products.
· . Develop, coordinate, and deliver remote and onsite product demonstrations, in-service training, installation support, workflow education, and post-training follow-up. Monitor training outcomes, customer satisfaction, and ongoing education needs.
· . Use clinical, product, and market knowledge to support sales presentations, customer conversations, competitive positioning, and marketing strategies. Provide feedback to internal teams regarding customer needs, product opportunities, training gaps, and competitive trends.
· . Participate in cross-functional initiatives with sales, marketing, product development, clinical support, technical support, and operations teams to improve products, processes, documentation, training resources, customer experience, and patient care outcomes.
Qualifications
- Proven Sales and Sales Management experience, including territory planning, pipeline management, and achieving or exceeding targets.
- Ideal candidates will have experience in consultative medical device sales, clinical applications, ophthalmology, optometry, diagnostic imaging, or related healthcare fields. We are willing to train highly motivated candidates with excellent communication skills, strong customer focus, and a demonstrated ability to learn complex technology.
- Experience in ophthalmology, medical devices, clinical applications, or healthcare sales is preferred. Ophthalmic ultrasound clinical experience strongly preferred, including familiarity with A-scan, B-scan, UBM, and related ophthalmic workflows
- Ability to deliver Training and product demonstrations to clinical and administrative staff in remote and in-person settings.
- Four-year college degree preferred; equivalent clinical, technical, sales, or leadership experience may be considered
- Demonstrated ability to quickly understand and learn new concepts, and willingness and desire to perform and teach ophthalmic ultrasound exams
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to effectively engage with ophthalmic healthcare providers and support long-term relationships
- Comfort with remote work, including proficiency with CRM systems, virtual meeting platforms, and digital sales tools.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a focus on proactive follow-up and territory coverage.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as business needs require.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
