Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our team in a remote capacity, delivering high-quality primary and specialized healthcare services to diverse patient populations. Duties
- Conduct thorough virtual patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and vital signs monitoring using telehealth technology.
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and state regulations.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across multiple specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, and pediatrics.
- Perform medical procedures including suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, and sterile processing when necessary within scope of practice.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, and billing codes such as CPT and ICD-10.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals including physicians, specialists in gastroenterology, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and others to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Provide health coaching, patient education on medication administration, nutrition, disease management, and preventive care strategies.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects to enhance service delivery and patient safety.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner with current certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Proven experience working with diverse populations including children, seniors in memory or assisted living care settings, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong telehealth experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management.
- Knowledge of healthcare diagnosis procedures including physiology knowledge, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), and drug enforcement regulations (DEA).
- Skilled in performing clinical procedures such as venipuncture, injection administration, sterile technique for suturing or dermal fillers when applicable.
- Critical care experience preferred—ICU or emergency room experience highly valued—along with familiarity in acute pain management and infection control protocols.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on treatment plans and health maintenance strategies.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards and safety protocols.
