Duties
- Operate cash registers (POS systems) accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities
- Handle cash drawer handling with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times
- Stock shelves and merchandise displays to ensure products are well-organized and visually appealing
- Assist with product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of various items
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or coordinating store activities
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing products according to store standards and assisting with inventory management
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred; grocery store experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of POS systems and cash register operations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic math for handling transactions accurately and balancing cash drawers
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and stock replenishment techniques
- Ability to provide product demos confidently and educate customers on store offerings
- Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills to foster positive interactions
