Medical Assistant – Adult Primary Care Practice

Governor’s Village Medical Center is a smaller, adult primary care practice focused on low volume, physician-led care. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Medical Assistant who is comfortable working with adult and geriatric patients.
This position is well suited for an MA who wants stable salaried income, predictable weekday hours, paid vacation time, and a pleasant practice environment rather than high-volume urgent-care or hospital-system.
- Full-time, salaried position of $40 000-$44 000/year
- Clinic hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch closure
- Benefits: 10 paid holidays + 15 additional paid clinic-closure days annually

Responsibilities include:
- Rooming adult and geriatric patients
- Obtaining accurate vital signs
- Medication reconciliation and allergy review
- Preparing patients for adult primary care visits
- Assisting with ECGs, urinalysis, point-of-care testing, and basic in-office procedures
- Managing lab orders, specimen handling, and follow-up workflows
- Supporting referrals, prior authorizations, and medical records requests, chronic care
- Returning patient calls and assisting with patient communication
- Maintaining clean, organized exam rooms and clinical supplies
- Helping ensure smooth patient flow in a lower-volume, relationship-based practice
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
- Comfort working with adult and geriatric patients
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong organizational ability
- Ability to work independently in a smaller practice setting
Preferred:
- Primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, or adult medicine experience
- Requires Medical Assistant certification by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
- Basic Life Support Certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) preferred
- Experience with ECGs, urinalysis, point-of-care testing, lab workflows, referrals, and prior authorizations
- EMR experience
