Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on nursing care to patients, including assessments, medication administration, IV infusions, and vital signs monitoring.
- Lead and coordinate nursing staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Oversee patient documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and physiological evaluations to determine care needs.
- Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), hospice support, and infectious disease protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning, case management, and post-acute care transitions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records while adhering to NCQA standards.
- Supervise infection control procedures, sterile processing, catheterization, tube feeding, and other specialized nursing interventions.
- Support triage activities by evaluating urgent patient needs in emergency or urgent care settings; assist with medical imaging or laboratory specimen collection when necessary.
- Provide education on health coaching topics such as geriatrics, pediatrics, family planning, or nutrition to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers; hospital medicine or emergency room experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and pharmacology principles.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion/infusion therapy, venipuncture, catheter care, suture removal, and sterile technique.
- Familiarity with specialized areas such as geriatrics, dementia/cognitive impairment care (including Alzheimer’s), hospice support, pediatric or neonatal ventilator management is advantageous.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations such as trauma or acute care settings.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and providing clear patient education.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
