The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation is recruiting
for an Accounting Technician 1 located in Palmer, Alaska!
What you will be doing:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations in the areas of accounting, travel, procurement, and payroll as well as providing general administrative support to the region. Region IV has four (4) area offices located in Palmer, Glennallen, King Salmon, and Dillingham which this position supports.

The working environment you can expect:
This position is in Palmer. Daily work involves one card reconciliations, invoice processing, personnel/hiring paperwork, assisting division employees with purchasing and travel questions, and completing procurement documents. This position is Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM in an office setting. This position may require 1-2 travel trips per year for training or staff workshops, typically in Anchorage
Who we are looking for:
We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position specific competencies:

Experience working with MS Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and Adobe

Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize workload and meet routine deadlines

Past work experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic, including personal accountability, punctuality, reliability, and ability to work as a team as well as independently.

Knowledge of administrative processes necessary to support the operations of a business, such as interpreting, executing, and relaying complex written rules, regulations, and procedures.

Experience working with systems used by the State of Alaska or similar systems. These include the following Integrated Resource Information System (IRIS) Financial and Human Resource Management (HRM) and Alaska Data Enterprise Reporting (ALDER).

Special Note:
Valid driver's license is preferred but not required. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES One year of clerical work experience maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations.
Substitutions:
Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience.
Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month).
