Job Summary
TheraFUNction Pediatric Therapy is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our multidisciplinary pediatric therapy team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide evidence-based therapy services to infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of developmental, neurological, orthopedic, and sensory-motor conditions. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping children achieve greater independence and reach their fullest potential in a fun, family-centered environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide skilled pediatric physical therapy interventions to improve gross motor skills, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, mobility, and functional independence.
- Facilitate therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, developmental play, neuromuscular re-education, and functional mobility training.
- Accurately document daily treatment notes, progress, and patient response using the clinic's electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Educate parents and caregivers on home exercise programs and strategies to support continued progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment while adhering to clinic policies and infection control standards.
- Participate in team meetings, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and all applicable state and federal guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
- Current Texas Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing.
- Current CPR certification.
- Previous pediatric experience is preferred but not required; new graduates with a passion for pediatrics are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric development, therapeutic exercise, and functional mobility interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and timely completion of documentation.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
