Shift Lead / Barista – Full-Time Closing Keyholder
We’re looking for a reliable, experienced, and motivated Shift Lead / Barista to join our team full-time, with a focus on closing shifts. As a keyholder, you'll not only craft quality coffee and create a welcoming customer experience — you'll also play a critical role in leading the team, managing the café in the absence of senior management, and ensuring each day ends on a strong note.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys mentoring others, and is confident handling end-of-day operations with independence and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee drinks, teas, and seasonal beverages according to house standards
- Lead the team during closing shifts, ensuring smooth operations, a positive work flow, and strong customer service through the end of the day
- Perform full closing duties, including cleaning and resetting the café, counting the register, locking up, and securing the store
- Provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service to customers; handle any customer concerns or feedback with professionalism
- Support and coach baristas throughout the shift; set the tone for teamwork and accountability
- Train new hires on closing procedures, beverage prep, and café expectations
- Monitor inventory during shift; restock as needed and communicate supply needs to management
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained throughout the shift
Requirements
- Prior barista experience is required
- Previous experience as a shift lead, supervisor, or keyholder in a café, restaurant, or retail setting is strongly preferred
- Comfortable handling closing responsibilities independently, including register reconciliation and locking up
- Familiarity with Square POS or similar point-of-sale systems
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- A team-first mindset, with a commitment to quality, efficiency, and cleanliness
- Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
