General Summary
The Department of Athletics at Indiana Tech serves as an integral part of the university and is an important participant in its mission. The commitment of the Department of Athletics is to enhance the student experience and to provide quality programs that are competitive, fun and meaningful in an atmosphere that promotes success within the spirit of fair play, sportsmanship and integrity
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, develop and administer all aspects of the women’s ice hockey program
- Formulate and administer team policies aligning with the philosophy of the institution
- Select, supervise and mentor assistant coaches for the program
- Recruit and retain specific enrollment numbers yearly
- Prepare students to meet eligibility qualifications for ACHA, CCWHA and Indiana Tech
- Support the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Tech
- Prepare and effectively and responsibly administer the program budget
- Purchase needed equipment and supplies necessary for short term and long term objectives of program, maintain appropriate inventory
- Prepare, maintain and schedule facilities for practices, games and meetings in collaboration with men’s hockey coach and others
- Publicize the program in collaboration with Sports Information Office
- Provide a written evaluation of the program at the conclusion of each season
- Execute secondary duties within the department such as site Supervision of assigned sporting events throughout the academic year
Complete other duties as assigned by the head coach or the athletic director

- Responsible to report scores and stats of each game to the SID and work with the staff to report on program results
- Provide all material necessary to Sports Information Director (SID) for your athletic program for the, ACHA and CCWHA
- Hire, educate and mentor assistant coaches

- Complete list of names to Athletic Director, Registrar, Financial Aid and FAR
- Ineligible players will not dress or participate in scrimmages or contests with outside teams
- Submit annual and extended budgets to the Athletic Director
- Adhere to all institutional, conference and national policies and procedures to complete objectives of program and expectations of supervisor
- Issue and collect all equipment to/from players
- Responsible for players’ conduct when traveling and participating in contests
Design and contract an approved schedule

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
Demonstrated ability to interact with students, parents, staff and the community in a positive way.

Experience
3-5 years of college coaching experience preferred
Working Conditions
- Physical work and travel are required.
Work is normally performed in the ice rink or athletic field setting.
