Case Manager & Program Support Specialist

Position Summary
The Case Manager & Program Support Specialist provides direct resident support, case management services, admissions assistance, documentation quality review, peer support, and program implementation support within a residential substance use disorder treatment program. This position assists with quality improvement initiatives, staff onboarding and training support, veteran and first responder programming, compliance activities, and administrative projects as assigned.
This position is a non-supervisory role that works collaboratively with clinical, operations, nursing, admissions, and leadership teams to support resident care, program quality, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdmissions & Intake Support
- Assist with the admission process as assigned.
- Facilitate resident intakes when assigned.
- Conduct searches of resident belongings and secure valuables and contraband according to agency policy.
- Audit admission-related clinical documentation within established timelines.
- Assist residents transitioning between levels of care.
- Coordinate intake and discharge logistics with appropriate departments as needed.
Case Management & Resident Services
- Maintain an assigned caseload of residents.
- Conduct resident orientations and recovery program orientations.
- Participate in treatment team meetings.
- Assist with continuing care planning and discharge coordination.
- Encourage participation in recovery support meetings and therapeutic programming.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Transport residents to appointments as assigned.
- Complete required case management documentation in a timely manner.
- Ensure treatment plans are updated according to program requirements.
- Conduct random testing (urine screenings, breathalyzer testing, etc.) as assigned and document accordingly.
Documentation Quality & Program Support
- Conduct peer audits of case management, group, and related documentation as assigned.
- Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives and corrective action efforts.
- Support staff onboarding and peer-to-peer training initiatives.
- Provide peer support regarding documentation standards and best practices.
- Communicate documentation concerns and compliance issues to leadership as appropriate.
Clinical & Program Support
- Assist with implementation of program initiatives and special projects.
- Facilitate groups as assigned.
- Assist with resident activities and sober recreational outings.
- Assist with development of program materials, training tools, and operational resources.
- Provide administrative support related to program implementation and compliance activities.
- Serve as a resource to staff regarding resident engagement and recovery support services.
Veteran & First Responder Program Support
- Facilitate veteran and first responder peer support activities.
- Serve as a resource regarding veteran, military, and first responder recovery needs.
- Assist with implementation and enhancement of veteran and first responder programming.
- Support staff training related to veteran and first responder cultural competency and program protocols.
- Assist leadership in monitoring adherence to veteran and first responder program standards and initiatives.
Facility & Operational Support
- Review shift reports and communicate concerns appropriately.
- Assist with room checks and safety procedures as assigned.
- Participate in emergency drills and safety initiatives.
- Assist with facility operations and resident support activities as needed.
- Answer and direct clinical office calls as assigned.
- Communicate facility concerns and operational issues to leadership.
Medication-Related Support
- Monitor resident self-administration of medications when assigned and permitted by policy.
- Assist with medication counts and medication-related coordination as assigned.
- Coordinate medication pickups with nursing staff and leadership when necessary.
- Ensure secure handling and control of medications at all times.
Training & Professional Development
- Complete all required trainings within designated timeframes.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities.
- Communicate training needs and recommendations to leadership.
- Assist with peer training and onboarding support as assigned.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, residential treatment, case management, recovery support services, or a related field.
- Experience working with veterans, military personnel, first responders, and their families in a residential treatment, behavioral health, or recovery setting.
- Experience with admissions, case management, discharge planning, treatment planning, and clinical documentation.
- Experience conducting documentation reviews, audits, quality assurance activities, or staff training preferred.
- Experience with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation standards.
- Valid California driver's license and insurable driving record.
Credentials
- CADC-I, CADC-II, or equivalent alcohol and drug counseling credential preferred.
- Additional behavioral health, recovery support, veteran services, or peer support certifications are a plus.

Pre-Employment Requirements
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and clearance in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Negative TB test and/or tuberculosis clearance as required by state and local regulations.
- Completion of a health screening and submission of required health records prior to onboarding.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
- Valid California driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of automobile insurance if driving is required as part of the position.
- Ability to meet all onboarding, training, and compliance requirements established by Summit Estate Recovery Centers.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
