Through evidence-based instruction, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team, we help students build the academic, communication, behavioral, and social skills they need to become more independent, successful, and confident.
Unlike many schools, our teachers work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team—including BCBAs, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Counselors—to deliver highly individualized, evidence-based programming in small classroom settings. This collaborative model allows teachers to focus on what they do best while learning from professionals across multiple disciplines.

About the Position
The Titus School is seeking a New York State Certified Special Education Teacher to join our team beginning September 2026.
This is a leadership role in which you will partner with behavior specialists, therapists, and families to create individualized educational programs for students with diverse learning, communication, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead engaging academic instruction in small-group and individual settings.
- Individualize curriculum based on each student's strengths, interests, and learning profile.
- Work alongside experienced ABA professionals in an integrated educational model.
- Help shape each student's educational program through ongoing assessment and data-driven decision making.
- Mentor and support classroom staff while developing your own leadership skills.
- Build meaningful relationships with students and their families.

Responsibilities
As a Lead Teacher, you will:
- Lead academic instruction in Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies in small-group and individual settings.
- Assess students' current levels of performance and develop individualized instructional plans aligned with IEP goals.
- Design and implement engaging, differentiated lessons using evidence-based curricula.
- Measure, analyze, and document student progress using data to inform instructional decisions.
- Conduct formal and informal educational assessments as appropriate.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and objectives.
- Collaborate closely with BCBAs, Lead Behavior Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Counselors, and classroom staff.
- Participate in IEP meetings and educational planning.
- Support the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and evidence-based behavioral strategies.
- Provide instructional leadership, coaching, and support to classroom staff.
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents, caregivers, related service providers, and outside treatment teams.
- Foster a structured, positive, engaging classroom environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Support a collaborative classroom culture built on professionalism, compassion, consistency, and high expectations.

QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education (Master's degree preferred or currently in progress).
- New York State Students with Disabilities Certification (or actively pursuing certification).
- Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and leadership skills.
- A passion for working with students with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, or in an ABA-based educational setting is preferred but not required.
- Experience differentiating instruction using evidence-based curricula.
- Experience collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- 40-week school year plus a 6-week summer program
